Overnight Oats

This is my almost-every-morning go-to. I batch about 4 jars at a time (any longer than about 4–5 days and it starts to go bad) and all I have to do in the morning is grab one, add edamame puffs, and I'm set.

A serving of overnight oats topped with edamame puffs

One serving of overnight oats shown with edamame puffs, which are a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED addition.

Important note!! Although I have added/subtracted a few ingredients, this original recipe is not my own. 100% credit goes to YouTubers Need Never Get Old for the base recipe; I only took it and ran with it. You can see their overnight oats video here.

Makes about 1 pint jar (1 serving).

Nutritional profile is calculated using exactly the brands shown in the ingredients list. Your values may vary if you use a different type of oats or protein powder.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup One Degree Organics sprouted rolled oats*
  • 1 tablespoon ground flax
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 scoops SunWarrior Active Protein powder in Chocolate**
  • 1 cup West Life soy milk
  • ¼ cup water
  • 10–15 drops stevia (optional, if you want it sweeter)

*Of course, you can use any rolled oats, but sprouted oats have more protein.
**Other brands may have fewer calories and less protein; and of course, you can switch up flavors to your liking.

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a 1 pint mason jar and stir carefully.
  2. Refrigerate overnight and serve in the morning.

Zhuzh It Up

Want to make it your own? Try adding:

  • Fruit(s) of choice
  • Nut butter (you can add powdered PB Fit when making it, but you might need to add a bit more water)
  • Cacao nibs
  • Nuts/seeds
  • Edamame puffs (strongly suggested—adds 20g protein for only 100 more calories)
  • Vegan yogurt
  • Vegan whipped cream, if added sugar isn't a concern

(These are best added on top, just before serving.)

Keep in mind that any additions will alter the nutritional profile, so plan accordingly.
